Communication Arts:
- Reading Logs will be sent home every Monday. Students are required to read 20 minutes per day, five days per week. Their reading logs must be filled out completely and signed by a parent/guardian. Completed reading logs must be turned in each Monday.
- A letter went home about literature extensions (book reports) last week. The literature extension for this quarter is due October 1st.
- Spelling ~ We will be starting our new spelling curriculum next Monday. More information will be coming soon.
- Writing ~ Practice editing skills, Play-doh Writing, write a letter to the student of the week.
- Reading ~ Focus: Main Idea & Details. Introduction to Literature discussion roles. Nonfiction reading for details. Students are required to have a book to read at all times. They can bring a book from home or check one out from the library or our classroom.
- Lesson 1.7, 1.8, and 1.9.
- Review prime and composite numbers, divisibility rules, and prime factorization.
- Homework this week: Study Link 1.7, 1.8, and misc.. Students should not work ahead on study links due to the fact they are practice for the lesson that day. Please check planners for each study link date.
- Characteristics of living and nonliving things
- Create a landforms dictionary and a fantasy island
