Communication Arts:
- Reading Logs will be sent home every Monday. Students are required to read 20 minutes per day, five days per week. Their reading logs must be filled out completely and signed by a parent/guardian. Completed reading logs must be turned in each Monday.
- A letter went home about literature extensions (book reports) last week. The literature extension for this quarter is due October 1st.
- Spelling ~ The district is using a new curriculum. We are waiting on the books to arrive before we can begin our lessons.
- Writing ~ Practice editing skills, review the writing process, write a letter to the student of the week.
- Reading ~ Introduction to the book Treasure Island. Literature Circles will meet. Nonfiction reading for details. Students are required to have a book to read at all times. They can bring a book from home or check one out from the library or our classroom.
- Lesson 1.5, 1.6, and 1.9.
- Homework this week: Study Link 1.5, 1.6, 1.9. Students should not work ahead on study links due to the fact they are practice for the lesson that day. Please check planners for each study link date.
- Students were given their Everyday Math Online logins and passwords. You and your student can access the Student Reference Book and Study Links online at http://www.everydaymathonline.com This is a great resource that should be very helpful throughout the school year. Students are encouraged to play the math games from this site and others that I will be sharing as the year goes on.

- Introduction to Landforms
- There will be a project done mostly in class on landforms.
