Communication Arts: Students are required to have a book to read at all times. They can bring a book from home, check one out in the library, or in our classroom.
- Reading Logs: Reading logs will be sent home every Monday. Students are required to read a total of 100 minutes per week. Reading logs must be filled out completely and signed by a parent/guardian. Completed reading logs must be turned in the following Monday.
- Literacy Focus: Nonfiction
- Writing Focus: Persuasive Essays. We will also work on our Daily Sentence Editing Skills.
- Grammar: Nouns, Verbs, and Incomplete Sentences
- Hyper Spellers:To identify the prefixes quadr-, tetra-, quint-, pent-, and dec- and understand how they influence the meaning of words.
- Super Spellers:To recognize VCV, VCCV and VVCV syllable-juncture patterns in words.
- Monday-Thursday: Spelling choices and workbook sort 17.
- Friday: Test
- Customary Units: Length, Capacity, Weight, Time, and Temperature
- Homework: Various Worksheets
