Communication Arts: Students are required to have a book to read at all times. They can bring a book from home, check one out in the library, or in our classroom.
  • Reading Logs: No reading logs this week due to Spring Break next week.
  • Literacy Focus: Inference
  • Writing Focus: Expository text. Students will be writing a newsworthy story for a class newsletter.  We will also work on our Daily Sentence Editing Skills.
Word Study: Sort 15
 
  • Hyper Spellers: To identify the prefixes mono-, bi-, and tri- and understand how they influence the meanings of words.      
  • Super Spellers: To recognize VCV and VVCV syllable-juncture patterns in words.
  • Monday: Introduction of lesson
  • Monday-Wednesday: Spelling choices and workbook sort 15
  • Thursday: Test

  • Math:
    • Two Rules for Finding Equivalent Fractions
    • Fractions and Decimals
    • Homework: Study Link 5.4, 5.5, Various Worksheets
    • Quiz on Thursday over Fractions
    Science/Health:
    • Students will working complete The Animal Inside Me Webquest
    • Students will review food chains, food webs, and the life cycle
    Social Studies:
    • Events leading up to the American Revolution:  Declaring Independence, review the events and important people.
    • Various activities, worksheets, and videos to enhance understanding of the events leading up to the American Revolution.
