Communication Arts: Students are required to have a book to read at all times. They can bring a book from home, check one out in the library, or in our classroom.

Reading Logs: Reading logs will be sent home every Monday. Students are required to read a total of 100 minutes per week. Reading logs must be filled out completely and signed by a parent/guardian. Completed reading logs must be turned in the following Monday.
Literacy Focus: Problem and Solution, Read about Famous Americans.
- Writing Focus: Students will be completing a science writing prompt.
- Literature Extension: The due date is January 31.
- Reminder: Students are to complete four Mark Twain Nominees before the end of January. Students are reminded weekly and this information was in the syllabus that you were given at the beginning of the year. This will be included in their third quarter grades.
- Hyper Spellers: Recognize how the suffix -ity affects words with the unaccented final syllable /e/.
- Super Spellers: Recognize unusual past-tense words.
- Monday: Introduction of lesson
- Tuesday-Thursday: Spelling choices and workbook sort 10
- Friday: Test
- Students will be learning about perimeter and nets.
- Homework: Various worksheets
- We will be moving back into life science and the study of animals.
- Study Guide will be given on Monday, January 7.
- Review on Tuesday.
- Test on the Middle Colonies will be on Wednesday, January 9.
