Communication Arts: Students are required to have a book to read at all times. They can bring a book from home, check one out in the library, or in our classroom.
- Reading logs will be sent home every Monday. Students are required to read a total of 100 minutes per week. Reading logs must be filled out completely and signed by a parent/guardian. Completed reading logs must be turned in the following Monday.
- Literature Extension due November 20.
- Literacy Focus: Figurative Language (metaphors, similes, idioms, etc.)
- Writing Focus: Figurative Language in Poetry ~ Epitaphs
- Treasure Island: Compare and contrast the book with the movie. Cooperative learning activity (comparison)
- Hyper Spellers: Recognize how to add -ion to words ending in -de and -it.
- Super Spellers: Recognize how -ing is added to words with VCe or VVC patterns.
- Monday: Introduction of lesson
- Tuesday-Thursday: Spelling choices and workbook sort
- Friday: Test
Math:
- Using a Compass and Congruent Triangles
- Study Links (homework): 3.5, 3.6, various worksheets
- Review of self reflection sheets from Unit 2 test
- We will be creating Arbor day posters in class. Due Monday, Nov. 5.
- Health: Beginning our unit on Body Systems.
- Students will be participating in "Kids Vote" on November 5th. We will continue and finish up our unit on elections.
