Communication Arts: Students are required to have a book to read at all times. They can bring a book from home, check one out in the library, or in our classroom.
- Reading logs will be sent home every Monday. Students are required to read a total of 100 minutes per week. Reading logs must be filled out completely and signed by a parent/guardian. Completed reading logs must be turned in the following Monday.
- Literature Extension due November 20.
- Literacy Focus: Cause and Effect
- Writing Focus: Figurative Language in Poetry, Reviewing the writing process.
- Literacy Circles: Using nonfiction,Time for Kids (TFK)
- Hyper Spellers: Recognize related words that have silent and sounded consonants.
- Super Spellers: Review methods of adding -ing. Spell Check 1 will also be given.
- Monday: Introduction of lesson
- Tuesday-Thursday: Spelling choices and workbook sort
- Friday: Test
Math:
- Students will be learning properties of polygons & tessellations
- Study Links (homework): 3.7, 3.8, various worksheets
- We will be leaving life science for a brief time to move into physical science with the three states of matter: solid, liquid, and gas.
- Health: Students will be focusing on how the circulatory system works.
- Students will be moving into colonization. Our first focus will be on the settlements of Jamestown, Roanoke, and Plymouth.
