- Reading logs will be sent home every Monday. Students are required to read a total of 100 minutes per week. Reading logs must be filled out completely and signed by a parent/gaurdian. Completed reading logs must be turned in the following Monday.
- Literature extension is due on Monday, October 1.
- Literacy Focus: Summarizing
- Writing Focus: Personal Narratives, Daily Sentence Editing
- Monday: Introduction to spelling lesson, Write words in planner.
- Tuesday - Thursday: Various spelling sorts, choices, and workbook activities
- Friday: Test
- Lessons 2.2-2.4 Addition and Subtraction of Whole Numbers and Decimals.
- Homework: 2.2, 2.3, 2.4
- Students will compare and contrast the similarities and differences of the characteristics between Nonvascular and Vacular plants.
- Understand that plants get their energy from the sun.
- Identify & describe what plants need to grow & be healthy.
- Define Photosynthesis (The food making process of a plant) and identify 3 things plans need to make food (Sunlight, Water, Carbon Dioxide)
- Explain Respiration (The passage of water through a plant from the roots through the vascular system to the atmosphere.)
- Identify parts of plants and explain their function.
Social Studies:
- Create and complete Landform Project
- Skyping with a special guest on landforms in Hawaii
- Introduction to regions
- Students will be given a study guide next Monday for their test on October 12
