Here is what we are learning this week:
Reader's & Writer's Workshop:
- Completed weekly reading logs are due back each Monday and must be signed by the parent. This will be the last reading log of the year.
- Literacy Focus: Students will begin reading Treasure Island, chapters 1-10, in class.
- Grammar: Daily Sentence editing pp. 46-47. Quiz on Friday.
- Final literature extension will be due on May 7th.
- Play the literature board games.
- Students will be going to Wilson's Creek National Battlefield on Monday.
- Students will learn about many different types of careers on Wednesday.
- Students will be working on "Dream House" projects during our class time.
- We will continue with our Health Unit on healthy diets and lifestyles.
- Students will be given a final spelling list on Monday. (This is a combination of words taken from all their spelling lists this year.)
- The test will be on Monday, May 14 and will be a combination of spelling half of the words on the list and recognizing/applying the meaning of the other half of the words. (This test will be worth 50 pts.)
- Students continue EDMIN testing in the computer lab this week.
- Wilson's Creek Battlefield field trip on Monday, May 7. Students need to wear their 5th grade t-shirts.
- Career Day is on Wednesday, May 9.
- Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Hughes will be out for eMINTS training on Thursday.
- Dominoes Night is Thursday, May 10.
