Here is what we are learning this week:
Reader's & Writer's Workshop:
- No weekly reading log this week or during spring break. However we encourage your child to read during this time.
- March Literature Extension will be due on March 30. Extension choices went home on Friday, March 9.
- Writing: Practice letter writing by writing a student of the week letter. Daily Sentence Editing. Quiz on Friday.
- Grammar: Adjectives
- Literacy Focus: Drawing Conclusions. We will review and practice this skill through smartboard activities, games, and worksheets.
- Read pages 426-457
- Students will complete our Westward expansion lessons.
- We are continuing our Fractions, Decimals & Percents Unit. There will be practice worksheets for homework and some Study Links will be assigned for homework.
- Wednesday is Pi Day!!! Information was sent home on Friday and students are welcome to bring a pie to share with the class. Students will be learning about diameter, radius, and completing various hands-on activities to learn about Pi.
Science/Health:
- We are continuing our Vertebrate Unit.
- Friday we will be conducting experiments related to our Vertebrate Unit.
Spelling:
- We will not have a spelling test this week.
Other Items of Interest:
- "Pi" Day Activities on 3/14. A letter went home last Friday about this event. Please read and respond no later than Tuesday 3/13.
