This Week's Connection

What an amazing night we had last Thursday for Night at the Museum!  We are so proud of what our students accomplished.  A big thanks to all our parents support for this big project. 
Here is what we are learning this week:
Reader's & Writer's Workshop:
  • Completed weekly reading logs are due back each Monday and must be signed by the parent.
  • March Literature Extension will be due on March 30.
  • Writing: Daily Sentence Editing. Quiz on Friday.
  • Grammar: Adjectives
  • Literacy Focus: Inferencing.  We will also review context clues, cause and effect, main idea, and inferencing through games. Final reflections on Night at the Museum.
Social Studies:
  • Read pages 426-457
  • Students will have a worksheet with each of the four lessons.
  • Exploring the west, expanding borders, ocean to ocean: Westward Expansion.
Math:
  • We are beginning our Fractions, Decimals & Percents Unit. There will be practice worksheets for homework each evening. Some Study Links will also be assigned.
Science/Health:
  • Students will be presenting their posters and sharing what they have learned about different types of extreme weather to the class.
  • We are returning to our Vertebrate Unit this week!
Spelling:
  • We are on List 17. Students will be required to complete two practice assignments from the choice board and cursive writing for Mrs. Hughes. The test will be on Friday.
Other Items of Interest:
    • Online gradebooks posted today.
    • Dominoes Night, Thursday, March 8th
    • Year Book order forms are due March 9th
    • Box Tops Due on Friday
    • Spring Break - March 19-23
