This Week's Connection

Gratitude.  More aware of what you have than what you don't.  Recognizing the treasure in the simple - a child's hug, fertile soil, a golden sunset.  ~ Max Lucado
Here is what we are learning this week:
Reader's & Writer's Workshop:
  • Literacy Focus: Figurative Language
  • Literature Extensions due November 28th
  • There will NOT be a Weekly Reading Log this week.  However, if your child has one missing I will offer those students a chance to make up one missing reading log during this week.
  • Writer's Workshop: Using the writing process, we will be completing on our writing Web Quest, "Oh, What a Tangled Web We Weave"
Social Studies:
  • Test over the Southern Colonies on Monday, November 21st.
  • When we return, we are headed into the American Revolution.
Math:
  • We are doing some practice working with data and graphs.
  • No homework this week!
  • Please continue to work with your student to improve speed and accuracy of multiplication facts! Practice at home will help increase the success of the student.
Science:
  • We are taking a few days to learn about famous scientists/inventors. Students have done some research during their library time. They are creating posters and will be sharing their information with their class.
Spelling:
  • No spelling this week!
Other Items of Interest:
  • Qdoba Night, this Monday, November 21.
  • No school on November 23-25 for Thanksgiving Break.
We are so thankful for each and every one of you and wish for you all a wonderful time with your families during Thanksgiving break. Please know that we are grateful for your support in the success of your student.  If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email or call. Have a great week!
