Communication Arts: Students are required to have a book to read at all times. They can bring a book from home, check one out in the library, or in our classroom.

- Reading logs will be sent home every Monday. Students are required to read a total of 100 minutes per week. Reading logs must be filled out completely and signed by a parent/guardian. Completed reading logs must be turned in the following Monday.

- Writing Focus: Continuing with our poetry unit: cinquain, quatrain, triplet, and couplet. Quiz on Wednesday. Study Guide went home last Friday.

- Hyper Spellers: Recognize related words in which a vowel sound changes from long to short /e/ in related words.
- Super Spellers: Identify spelling patterns of words with the -ed ending.
