Here is what we are learning this week:
Reader's & Writer's Workshop:
- Completed weekly reading logs are due back each Monday and must be signed by the parent.
- Final literature extension will be due on May 7th.
- Literacy Focus: We will be reading the book Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne. Throughout this class read we will be blogging and doing various activities.
- Students will be analyzing the early battles of the Civil War, identifying the major battles, and describe the surrender of General Lee to General Grant.
- Camp Disney Volunteer Meeting is April 25th at 3:30. If you can't make it please let me know so I can get you the packet. Thank you for helping.
- Study Guides for the Fractions, Decimals & Percents Unit were sent home on Friday and are due today (Monday).
- Practice worksheets will be sent home on Monday & Tuesday for additional practice.
- The Unit Test will be given on Thursday, April 19.
- Earth Day is next Monday, April 22. Students will be completing various activities as they learn about Earth Day.
Spelling:
- Due to the students not having school on Friday and an assembly on Thursday, we will not have a spelling test this week. However, students will be required to complete spelling homework assignments and plan for an inclass projects.
Other Items of Interest:
- Students have completed their MAP testing. We begin EDMIN testing in the computer lab this week.
- Online Gradebooks were updated as of April 16. Next update will be April 30. If you have not signed up to get your code please stop by the office so that you can keep track of your students progress.
- No school this Friday, April 20. Teacher Work Day!
