Here is what we are learning this week:
Reader's & Writer's Workshop:
- Completed weekly reading logs are due back each Monday and must be signed by the parent.
- Final literature extension will be due on May 7th. A letter will be going home today (Monday) explaining the project.
- MAP testing in Communication Arts is Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.
- Literacy Focus: We will review and practice this various reading skills through smartboard activities and games.
- Students will be learning what caused conflicts between the Northern and Southern states and what groups of people resisted slavery. Chapter 12, lessons 1-3.
- A letter went home the Friday before spring break asking for volunteers for our Civil War camp in May. If you did not receive the letter please click on the link provided to read the letter: Call for Camp Disney Volunteers
- MAP Review - We will review skills learned in preparation of MAP testing.
- We are continuing our Fractions, Decimals & Percents Unit. There will not be homework due to MAP Testing.
Science/Health:
- MAP Review. The science portion of MAP testing will be next Wednesday and Thursday.
Spelling:
- We will not have a spelling tests during MAP testing.
- Students will be required to complete spelling assignments and projects in class.
Other Items of Interest:
- MAP Testing begins on Tuesday, April 4th. Please make sure your child gets plenty of rest and a good healthy breakfast to start their day. Thank you for your support during this time of testing.
