A Note From Mrs. Hughes

Welcome to MAP week two!  You can help your child to be prepared for this exciting week by making sure they get a good nights rest, eat a healthy breakfast, and encourage them to do their best!
Math: 
  • Please make sure your child completes their Study Link homework each night. Check their planners for which study links are due.
  • We will be continuing on in unit 11 on Wednesday. 
  • MAP testing on Tuesday of this week.

Readers Workshop:
  • We are currently reading Indian in the Cupboard as a class.  Students should have finished with chapters 1-4 last week.
  • This week we are reading chapters 5-12.
  • No Literature Extension in the month of April but the assignment for May will be coming home this week.
Social Studies:
  • Chapter 9 ~ American Revolution
Word Study (spelling): No Spelling this week
  • Monday: Create study guide and choose three choices from the spelling choice board.
  • Monday - Thursday: Practice spelling words using their choices from the spelling choice board.
  • Friday: None
Science/Health:
  • Introduction of the scientific method.
  • Perform several experiments in the classroom using the scientific method.
  • Project (this will be introduced at the end of the week)
  • MAP Testing on Wednesday and Thursday this week.
Writing:
  • Student of the week letter.
Other bits of information:
  • Report cards go home  today.
  • If you can volunteer for Camp Disney please turn in your form by April 22nd.
